Ares  

Ares was born in 1975 on the ancient isle of Crete. Immersed as a child, in the ancient ruins and artifacts of Minoan culture, Ares grew to appreciate early on the power of art and architechture.

With the encouragement of Ares' teachers, he attended the National Academy of the Arts in Athens where he became acquainted and enamored with the larger movements in contemporary art, especially in the United States.

This experience has proved to be a great influence on the young artist and has allowed him to explore tensions between the present and the past through his often-times heavily textured and abstracted paintings.

Ares works can be found in private collections in Europe, Canada and the United States.
