Raised in Woodstock, New York during the Sixties, an appreciation for nature and the outdoors indelibly colors the work of Susan Conti. She credits much of her imagery to the influence of her father, a metal sculptor, and her mother, a writer and lover of nature. Sue took her BFA in printmaking at the State University of New York at Purchase, and her Masters at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Seven years with South American woodcut artist Antonio Frasconi and work with monoprint maker Mauricio Lasanski further enriched her vision and skills. Sue prides herself on her ability to work in many mediums: she even spent time in her creative life as a makeup artist for the New York City and the Metropolitan Operas. |
