“I use grisaille technique with layers of oil glazes on a support textured with my handprints. The work is finished with ink, oil pastel, foil, wax, metallic acrylic and leaf. Some pieces are finished with epoxy resin. The images are generated in my imagination, and as the work progresses I become the vessel through which the painting takes on its own life.” Lynn Mayes.
